'Magical tales of hero kids' is a series of books. The first volume was published in 2019. For all four volumes I made illustrations and covers, and for the last three I created a new concept and design layout. Each book contains 30 tales and 30 real-life stories in a dossiers format. For each book, the team comes up with its own gift: poster, sticker pack, bookmarks.
Cover illustrations for the series feature six characters from magical tales. Behind each character is their shadow, the adults they will one day grow into. This idea, once popped into my head, still makes me cry. What will the real life be like for the prototypes of these characters? Will they be happy? I always hope that their lives will turn out for the best.
The work should have been done in a really short time, I had only two and a half month to complete, so for this volume I chose a completely new technique. I decided to work digitally with simple coloured shapes and add just a little texture and lines. I also stylized the characters a lot more than I used to do, so they turned out expressive and funny.
I decided to use a tetradic colour scheme and picked 23 main colours and one shadow colour.
Despite my minimalistic approach, I managed to make the illustrations interesting through patterns and nice colour combinations.

As a result, the book contains more than 90 illustrations. And there are a lot of dog characters :)
As a gift for the fourth volume, the little reader will receive a large sticker pack. It contains characters from the book and stickers for a diary or a planner. They are designed for small remarks, to-do lists or important notes.
